Lindbergh Bay: St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands
Some of the most beautiful beaches that I have seen are in the United States Virgin Islands. The sand is white and soft. The water is either aqua or emerald blue. The sun shined brilliantly above making this day the perfect beach day. My desire to have some fun in the sun led me to enjoy an afternoon of relaxation at Lindbergh Bay.
I wasn’t at all surprised when I arrived at Lindbergh Bay. It was everything that I expected and more. The water was calm as the waves gently glided on the shore. The sounds of the waves were subtle, soothing and therapeutic. The atmosphere invited me into a world of tranquility, serenity, and peace. It was effortless for the rhythm of the waves to entice me into taking an afternoon nap.
Afterward, I went for a swim, read my book and then went swimming again. The temperature of the water was so lovely that I couldn’t resist the opportunity to be in it for a while. The ocean was crisp and refreshing on my skin. It was also full of life!
Occasionally, I saw a school of tropical fish, a, and a conch shell. As I swam along the rocks, I saw a baby sea urchin as well. In addition to nature, there were a lot of water sports activities available. Beachgoers can go kayaking, snorkeling, peddle on the paddle boats or ride on a Jet Ski. There are rental booths that are available on the beach.
Lindbergh Bay, lined with palm trees and sea grape trees. There was also shade underneath the grass umbrellas placed throughout the shore. Located at the end of the beach is Lindbergh Bay Park.
In the park, there are swings, a tennis court, a playground, and a small area to play basketball. There are picnic tables, a gazebo, restroom and sprinklers that are turned on during the weekend.
Before I wrap up, here are a few things that you may need to know. There are several ways to enter the beach. From the parking lot entrance, there is a terracotta tiled walk-way that has two paths that leads to the beach. There was one path commonly used as an aisle for a destination wedding. The walkway has an array of tropical plants and flowers that joins into an arch. In the backdrop, lies the beautiful Lindbergh Bay.
However, the other path takes you through the grounds of the hotel. Which means that on your way to the beach you will walk past the gift shop, bathroom, pool, restaurant, bar and finally you will arrive at the beach. The quickest way to enter the beach is to merely park parallel to the Cyril E. King Airport and dip your toes in the sand almost immediately.
Furthermore, protect your skin with sunblock and bring a beach towel. If you are an American citizen, you do not need a passport to travel to the United States Virgin Islands. After all, it is considered “America’s Paradise.”
Overall, I had a very relaxing day at Lindbergh Bay! Before packing up, I enjoyed watching the sunset. As the sun descended behind the lush green hills, the colors of the sky changed from light blue to a beautiful mellow orange. The sunset was undoubtedly the icing on the cake of this beautiful, peaceful beach day!
