Cane Garden Bay: Tortola, British Virgin Islands
Let me start out by saying that Tortola, British Virgin Islands is a beautiful place to visit. There are steep hilly roads that are filled with endless green trees, awesome views and a bustling busy little town called Road Town. This is also known as the capitol of the British Virgin Islands. This scenic beauty led me to check out one of its most talked about beaches, Cane Garden Bay.
Nestled on the Northside of Tortola is Cane Garden Bay. Although, it was rainy when I arrived, the sun peeked through the clouds until it was brilliantly shining over the beach. There was soft white sand that was perfectly in place and the crystal clear waters exposed the small rocks and tiny tropical fishes that swam around them.
In addition to swimming, relaxing or reading a book at Cane Garden Bay there are a lot of water-sports activities to choose from. You can build your upper body strength and go kayaking around the beach. Explore the underwater world and swim with the fishes on a self-guided snorkeling tour. Lastly, you can go paddle boarding.
I was lucky enough to occupy my time by engaging in all three activities. However, I really enjoyed snorkeling the most. I saw a variety of tropical fishes, conch, turtles and a star fish. It was truly a wonderful experience.
Cane Garden Bay, is lined with souvenir shops, restaurants, bars and a guest house. There are also umbrellas and beach chairs that can be rented for $5.00.
Overall, Cane Garden Bay is a great weekend get-a-way. As a result of having all of the amenities and activities at my finger tips, I didn’t have to leave the beach! Not even for a second!
