Bitter End: Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands
My hair was blowing in the wind, as Princess Charter sailed away from Gun Creek Dock. Thus far, the day was hot, and I was grateful that the breeze was gentle and serene. I sat in the back of the boat where I was occasionally sprinkled on by the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Captain Kinky and my Tour Guide John, kept the conversations fun and light and less than thirty minutes later, we arrived at Bitter End in Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands!
Hmm! My meal was a yummy delight as I ate my breakfast at The Club House Steak and Seafood Grille Restaurant. It consisted of a vegetable omelet, three strips of bacon, toast that was cut in half, a slice of orange and gourmet caffeinated coffee. In addition to the plated selections, there was also an elaborate buffet that included items for patrons to enjoy a continental breakfast. The staff was amiable as I toured the open air restaurant that had the backdrop of a beautiful beach.
Upon completion of my meal, I went on the beach.
The sand was white. The water was aqua blue and crystal clear. Every rock, seashell, and fish were visible swimming beneath the shallow parts of the sea. There were calm and peaceful waves that gently glided on the shore. Out on the water was a wooden floating dock in which beachgoers could sit and soak their feet in the ocean.
Tall coconut trees lined the shoreline. The white sand felt smooth and beautiful underneath my feet. There were colorful chairs that were painted a variety of colors to sit on. There were also umbrella huts that provided additional shade. Hammocks hung between palm trees as another option for relaxation. I loved the hammock and stayed there for a while.
Overall, I had a wonderful time visiting the Bitter End. Here are a few things that you may need to know. Nestled in the North Sound of Virgin Gorda is Bitter End. It is only accessible by boat. If you don’t own a boat, Princess Charter will be able to transport you to this destination. Lastly, my advice is to go to the Bitter End with an empty tummy and a mind to embrace relaxation on the beach!
